Work experience in Europe

The best way to get a feel of the firm and the type of work we do is to come to work with us for a fortnight on one of our work experience schemes. We offer two week work placements in our London and Milan offices.

Our two week work experience placements in Europe commence on the following dates: 31 March, 23 June, 7 July, 21 July and 4 August.

During the placement you’ll have the opportunity to see and complete real work in two different departments. Supervised by a solicitor you will have the opportunity to be involved in their current casework and get a real taste of life as solicitor.  You will also be assigned a ‘buddy’ from our trainee group who will be on hand to ensure that any questions you have about the firm are answered.

Our Milan programme is open to fluent Italian speakers and the work undertaken in Milan consists primarily of commercial and corporate matters.  Our Italian office boasts a prime location in the centre of Milan.

Over the two-week period we run a fun and interesting case study where you work alongside others on work experience  to gain an insight into a ‘case’ from beginning to end. You will be asked to take part in a client meeting, draft correspondence and mediate a settlement agreement.  (Please note that this exercise is only available in the London office).

We are proud of our Easter and Summer work experience schemes as they offer a real insight into what it is like to work for a City law firm and most importantly you will gain first hand experience of what it is like to work for Withers by experiencing some of our core practice areas - something which is difficult to glean from a website.  In 2006 our scheme was nominated for the Law Careers.net award for the best vacation scheme.
