Training for lawyers

We are proud of our training programmes for lawyers and recently were ranked 4th and 6th (out of 75 of the top 100 law firms) for both our informal and formal training.

Formal Training

Our team of Professional Support Lawyers take responsibility for our legal skills training and update programmes in Europe and Switzerland alongside our Human Resources team in the US.  They work together to  run sessions using both internal and external specialists to share knowledge and update our teams on legal and market developments.  Internal training sessions are often run on a global basis via video conferencing to ensure the opportunity to share information across jurisdictions.   Individuals also have the opportunity to attend external training courses and seminars.

To complement legal skills training, we run a soft skills training programme in-house often using external specialists.  Recent workshops include networking, negotiation and presentation skills.

Our TAP qualified IT  training team provide an 'at your desk' service to our legal team to ensure IT  training is tailored and worthwhile – be that to refresh you on a long forgotten piece of IT software or running through the logistics of your blackberry.

Our international growth coupled with the international business needs of many of our clients means that we are also keen to support language speakers to keep their language skills up to date.

For those looking to gain further qualifications we have a comprehensive training and study policy, offering financial support and study leave in line with business needs.

Informal Training

Our team based approach to working facilitates good exposure to our technical specialists ensuring our junior lawyers develop their own knowledge from the wealth of experience within the team.  The open door policy ensures there is a culture of idea sharing and individual development.

Our appraisal system is designed to promote discussion on an individual lawyer's development.
