After one year of study in England in the context of a European Community exchange program, I completed my law degree in France and specialized in taxation through a postgraduate diploma in tax and corporate law. I enjoyed practicing various areas of tax (real estate, corporate, international) in Paris through several long internships in law or accounting firms. After passing the Paris Bar exam, I obtained a scholarship from the Paris Bar which enabled me to complete an LLM Tax at Georgetown University. At the end of the LLM, I was lucky to interview with Withers Bergman in the US who were looking for LLM tax graduates with international qualifications. Today, I am extremely happy to evolve in a highly sophisticated international private client practice.
After being trained in the New Haven office to US international tax rules pertaining to income, estate and gift taxes, I worked in the New York office, where I draft estate plans and work on related structures for individuals that are US or that have US ties by spending some time or by investing in the United States. Most recently I have joined the Geneva office on secondment. I am part of our Latin American Practice Group and also perform work for our French and European clients. I particularly enjoy drafting trusts, for the history that it carries, the language aspect and also for the idea that I am getting a handle on a concept that is totally extraneous to French’s legal system.
I have recently moved to Geneva and love exploring what is for me, a new City.
