Withers Bergman was recently involved in the ABC Extreme Home Makeover project which aired Sunday, February 9, 2009 at 8:00pm (EST) on ABC. The Voluntown, Connecticut family, lost their home to a fire a year ago, then faced an unimaginable double tragedy when husband Thomas and eldest son Marc drowned during a family swim, leaving Carol Girard and her four children devastated. In only 106 hours, the Extreme Home Makeover team, as well as hundreds of volunteers and workers, built the Girard Family a wonderful new home.
Withers Bergman assisted with the creation of a charitable trust and a limited liability company wholly owned by the trust to be used as a fundraising vehicle. The charitable trust and LLC will help ensure that money that has been donated and future donations are protected and can be used to support this family and other deserving families in Connecticut for years to come.
