The British Virgin Islands (BVI) is a group of islands located in the Caribbean about sixty miles due east of Puerto Rico and is one of the world's leading offshore centres. In fact, there are more than three quarters of a million companies registered in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and it is estimated that more than 40% of all offshore companies are registered there.

This means that international litigation, such as insolvency litigation, fraud and asset tracing, often involves a BVI offshore component. This in turn requires expert advice and co-ordination between the world's financial centres and the island itself.
