Alessia is head of the UK Italian Desk and handles mainly real estate, commercial and corporate cross-border transactions with an Italian angle.

She assists international clients who wish to invest in the Italian real estate market or establish their business presence in Italy, dealing with all aspects of the transaction as well as project managing the various external professionals involved. An equally important aspect of Alessia's work is the support she gives to Italian corporate clients in their UK business ventures.

Alessia advises on a wide range of commercial matters. She negotiates and drafts commercial agreements (e.g. agency, distribution, licence, supply, general terms and conditions, consultancy) and provides general commercial support to her UK, Italian and international corporate clients. She has considerable expertise in the use and application of international conventions and European laws applicable to international contracts, as well as on jurisdictional issues and the enforcement of foreign judgments.

Alessia also advises private clients on their international succession and estate issues from an Italian law perspective, with particular emphasis on the analysis of conflict of law issues and the application of private international laws.
 

Highlights

• Carrying out large scale reviews of all current international contracts of a number of prominent Italian companies
• Advising on the acquisition of an Italian real estate company by a foreign special purpose vehicle
• Assisting an internationally established Italian fashion house in setting up their business in the UK by way of acquisition of a local company and a number of commercial premises in London
• Assisting a long-standing client of the Firm with a highly contentious debt recovery against an Irish company and advising on the enforcement of the Italian judgment in Ireland
   

Publications and speaking engagements

Alessia is the Vice President of the Distribution Commission of AIJA - Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats (International Association of Young Lawyers) and has spoken at a number of seminars on international agency and distribution, franchising and general international commercial. She has been awarded the Past Presidents Award for her National Report on licence and distribution agreements in 2009.

She has also been a speaker at seminars on investing in Italian real estates and on international estate planning.

On a personal note

Alessia enjoys travelling, cooking, sport and reading, but her main favourite is looking after her young son.
