Chris started work at Withers in 1999 as a fresh faced trainee solicitor, qualifying into the Private Client Department in 2001 and was made a Partner in 2007.

Chris works in the Wealth Planning department with a particular focus on advising both UK domiciled and non-UK domiciled high net worth individuals in relation to their personal, business and philanthropic affairs.

His practice includes advising individuals and trustees on UK tax issues, investment structuring for private investors and asset managers, UK and international trust and estate planning.

With Alana Lowe-Petraske (also of Withers LLP) Chris recently wrote the chapter on "The Practice of International Philanthropy" in "International Charitable Giving", a new volume published by Oxford University Press which is the only comprehensive treatment of cross-border charitable giving. providing extensive analysis of the broader and jurisdiction-specific issues in this complex area.

Chris is a co-author of Barnsley on Land Options and McCutcheon on Inheritance tax.

Chris is also a regular contributor to newspapers including the Financial Times as well as professional publications.
