Eleni advises clients on international and domestic commercial disputes and arbitrations as well as company and personal insolvency. She also acts for barristers in cases of alleged professional negligence.

Eleni is an experienced international arbitration practitioner, having acted in ad hoc and institutional arbitrations including under the rules of Uncitral and LCIA.

As a fluent Greek and Italian speaker Eleni's practice extends to assisting Italian and Greek / Cypriot clients needing advice in England and Wales.

Highlights

• Acting for a well known fashion brand in a dispute with its UK franchisee. This case is due for trial at the beginning of January 2012.
• Acting for a premiership football club in a number of disputes with former directors.
• Acting for the russian shareholder of a Cyprus registered company in a dispute with its joint venture partners in LCIA arbitration and injunctive proceedings in Cyprus.
• Advising an individual investor in a fraud claim against a financial services firm, acting for an Italian construction company on a claim for breach of contract against an English construction company and acting for a financial services firm in an arbitration claim for breach of contract against independent financial advisers.
• Ad hoc arbitration - acting for a firm of independent financial advisers on a breach of contract claim against two Finnish individuals one based in London and the other in Finland.
• LCIA arbitration - acting for Greek clients in substantial LCIA arbitration in respect of a proposal merger in Greek pay TV market against a Dutch multi national.

On a personal note

When Eleni is not busy with her 2 children, she loves travel and cooking. She has previously backpacked extensively through central and south America, as well as Australia, new Zealand and India. She has also spent a year working and studying in Italy, and six months in Brussels as part of a stage at the European Commission.
