Overview

Georgina is a commercial litigator acting in all types of dispute, both international and domestic. Her experience includes dealing with fraud and asset tracing, contentious insolvency, professional negligence, professional and sporting disciplinary hearings.

Georgina has also been involved in a number of mediations and has recently been increasing her arbitration experience.

  • Arab Banking Corporation/ABC Islamic Bank//Credit Agricole/HSBC/BACB v AHAB - acting on behalf of a Saudi partnership in the Commercial Court in disputes relating to various foreign exchange transactions, loan facilities and letter of credit agreements as well as as obtaining injunctive relief against Mr Al Sanea and his Saad group in an attempt to recover the proceeds of the fraud.
  • Renault F1 - representing the Formula 1 in the FIA International Court of Appeal regarding suspension penalty following Hungarian Grand Prix in 2009.
  • Acting for Greek clients in relation to arbitral proceedings against one of the largest pharmaceutical companies.
  • Acting for the owners of two aircraft stranded as result of XL's administration in 2008.
  • Kevin So v HSBC Bank PLC (LTL 6/4/2009 Court of Appeal) - acting on behalf of Mr So, an investor, in his appeal against against a decision that the respondent bank was not liable to defrauded investors in respect of payments out of accounts held with it. (2007) EWHC 2819 (Comm), (2008) 2 CLC 770).
     

On a personal note

On a personal note, Georgina loves all kinds of sports but is particularly keen on running, cycling and swimming. She also has a passion for cooking and travel which has recently seen her go to Laos, Cambodia and Nepal.
