Overview

Gill has experience in all aspects of family law and especially the financial ramifications of what happens when an international family with complicated financial structures around the world comes to grief.

Gill typically handles, in parallel, disputes relating to permission for permanent removal from England.

Spears Wealth Management listed her as a leading family lawyer and commended her for her sense of perspective, said to be a "key part of her appeal".

Gill is listed in the Citywealth 2010 Leading Lawyers Honours List within Family and Matrimonial.

Highlights

  • Gill acted for the Husband in the case of Z v Z (No 2), reported at [2011] EWHC 2878 (Fam), in which the High Court upheld a French marital agreement, restricting the Wife to her needs. The case was the first reported case to apply the principles set out by the Supreme Court in Radmacher v Granatino.
  • Gill represented Sir Martin Sorrell who fought to move away from a 50/50 division of the marital resources and achieved a 60:40 division in his favour, introducing the concept of "special contribution".
