Overview

Meriel is head of the employment team and advises both senior executives and employers. Meriel has many years of experience of advising senior executives on their contracts both on joining, on exit and in the context of a wide range of disputes.

Meriel and her team are top rated in Chambers for advising senior executives. Meriel is a trained mediator and was described in the 2015 edition of the Chambers directory as being '"calm and unflappable" with "a clear determination to resolve the issues her clients face".' She is also described in 2014, as having 'great style and a strong client manner', and in 2012 as being ‘very good at dissecting what the legal issues really are'. In the 2011 edition of the Legal 500 directory, Meriel was described as having a 'wealth of practical and tactical strategies up her sleeve'.

Highlights

Recent cases of note include defending and obtaining injunctions to enforce restrictive covenants, garden leave and protect confidential information, as well as cases on discrimination and whistleblowing.
