Aircraft, yachts and other luxury assets

We advise in relation to all types of luxury assets, including aircraft, yachts, horses, antique cars and other personal property, art, collectibles and other non-financial investments.

We have a wealth of experience assisting individual and corporate clients in the acquisition, ownership and use of private aircraft. We deal with the negotiation of contracts, financing, tax structuring, executive compensation issues related to personal use of these aircraft, and other related matters.

We also advise on the construction, purchase, registration and operation of yachts and other seagoing vessels, as well as coordinating the international legal advice that may be required.
Structuring and management of such investments often requires advice on confidentiality and employment agreements, cross-border sales, VAT, income and excise tax issues, flag and other jurisdictional and regulatory issues and overall liability protection concerns.

  • Negotiating and monitoring the purchase and construction of a yacht, and dealing with vessel registration, taxation and the variety of other requirements.
  • Establishing a UK trust to own a collection of modern art situated in Italy, to ensure that the Italian domestic rules which might have impeded the development of the collection did not apply.
