Trade disputes

Our commercial litigation team has acted extensively in a broad range of trade-oriented disputes.

Among other matters, we advise on disagreements over the domestic and international sale of goods and services; distribution and agency relationships, and joint ventures; problems relating to exports, imports and international carriage of goods; and contract disputes and wrongful interference with goods (including art and antiquities). We are also regularly involved in disputes concerning international negotiable instruments and commercial paper, trade finance, domestic and international trade debt recovery, and trade insolvencies.

Our clients include commercial enterprises with branches, subsidiaries or joint ventures and importers and exporters to manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, distributors and agents.

Recent work

Acting for Hesco Bastion in proceedings issued against them by the Receivers of the Trading Force claiming unpaid commissions in relation to supplies made to US Ministry of Defence.
We acted for a Greek company in an ICC arbitration against a Jordan state owned company relating to the termination of a ten-year worldwide agency and distribution agreement.
We acted for a Panamanian company which was the vehicle used to merge the interest of competing pay TV platforms in Greece in a LCIA arbitration which required the consideration of English law, Dutch law, Greek competition law and South African law and complex expert evidence of accounting for loss.
