A number of our Italian clients in the fashion, luxury brands and sports sectors have used us to ensure the continued value of their brands.

Many of our Italian clients have sought our advice on the creation and management of anti-counterfeiting programs (or plans) to protect the goodwill generated by a brand, whether this protection is for a character, an industrial product or fashion design.

Recent work

  • Acting for Societa Esplosivi Industriali SpA in a long-running design right case involving multiple warhead systems.  The case was notable as the Court, for the first time, had to assess the impact of the alleged infringers' mental capacity in deciding whether the alleged acts amounted to infringements under the wording of the relevant legislation.
  • Managing the trade mark portfolio of a leading Italian wine manufacturer.
  • Acting for an Italian sports celebrity against an international beverage company in a trade name dispute.
  • Acting for an Italian wholesaler of perfumery in relation to a trade mark infringement and parallel trade case.
  • Acting for a major Italian manufacturer in the bio-medical and electro-medical equipment sector, in pursuing a claim for patent infringement of one of its devices for carrying out specific surgical procedures.
