Charities real estate

We act for more than 100 charities and not-for-profit clients and we work closely with our charities lawyers to advise on the broad range of issues commonly faced in this sector. These include acquisitions and sales of investment portfolios, development projects, secured lending and the management of property and facilities.

Our not-for-profit clients include, among others, Macmillan Cancer Support, The Paul Hamlyn Foundation, the Butchers’ & Drovers’ Charitable Institution and The County Land & Business Association.

Recent work 

  • Structuring the funding for the redevelopment of London’s Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.
  • Advising Macmillan Cancer Support, one of the UK’s largest cancer support charities, in the acquisition of new headquarters in London.
  • Acting for Syracuse University and other universities with study abroad programs in relation to their real estate requirements.
  • Representing Yale University on the development of major medical facilities in conjunction with other non-profits and public organizations.
