Our US team helps clients sell or buy residential real estate, whether for their own use or as an investment. Much of our work focuses on real estate transactions in and around New York, but we also regularly advise on property acquisitions or sales overseas.

We provide a comprehensive service from contract negotiation through to the completion of the transaction, including practical steps and legal procedures in the purchase of condominium and cooperative residential properties. We also advise on issues related to residential property ownership, such as estate and succession matters and taxation.

Our advice also covers the legal issues involved in real estate development, including financing strategies, planning procedures, the negotiation of building contracts and the appointment of designers, architects and other professionals.

Recent work 

  • Representing the seller in a residential transaction valued at over $100m on the East End of Long Island, NY. The transaction, which has been called the most expensive ever in the US and the second largest in the world, included complex charitable, conservation, historic preservation and beachfront issues.
  • Advising clients buying condominium units in new developments.
  • Working on the sale and purchase of houses and apartments in Manhattan and the country at prices of up to $100m.
  • Acting for clients in the purchase of foreign property, both for investment and for personal use.
  • Acting in the purchase and redevelopment of real estate.
