We advise family offices on a wide range of employment issues. We provide advice on the full spectrum of ‘conventional' employment matters, such as, disputes and dismissals, mergers and takeovers, diversity and other training, and health and safety concerns.

Other aspects of our work focus on the all-important issue of confidentiality, crucial in the operation of every family office. We may, for example, be asked to advise on the protection of confidential information or to draw up tailored contracts with confidentiality clauses.

We frequently work with family offices on the recruitment of key personnel, including the negotiation of employment agreements, and the development of deferred compensation structures designed to align the interests of the employee with those of the family.

Recent work

  • Working on employment contracts for personal staff requiring tailored employment and confidentiality provisions, such as on contracts for the pilots of private jets.
  • Advising on a contract for personal staff that travel with the family, where there are immigration issues to address.
  • Acting in a dispute with a managing director who had defrauded his business of substantial funds.
