Partnership law

Partnerships open up dynamic business possibilities, yet they bring with them an array of complications and responsibilities. Our employment team provides both individual partners and partnership teams with clear and practical advice to help devise strategies to circumvent these complexities.

We regularly advise partners on joining and leaving partnerships, discrimination issues, and situations involving partners who are really employees of their partnership.

Our client list includes partners from a range of professions, including stockbrokers, accountants, architects and lawyers. Most are based in the UK and US, but the firm's well-established international profile means we regularly represent clients in other countries.

Recent work

  • Acting for the partners in the securitization team at law firm Norton Rose, on their move to Baker & McKenzie.
  • Representing an architect in a dispute over whether he was a partner or an employee.
  • Advising several female partners of London and national law firms on the sex discrimination they faced at work.
