Structuring of the investment manager/adviser
Our practice is rooted in a mix of wealth planning, funds, regulatory and corporate experience; these broad perspectives and our detailed knowledge base mean we are able to put in place an integrated investment management structure for our clients.
We typically assist clients in the creation of investment management vehicles in the Caribbean, the Channel Islands, North and South America, Asia and Europe. Our clients include funds, investment managers and family offices.
In advising on the structuring of management vehicles, we take time to understand client-specific factors. This ensures we determine the most appropriate type of vehicle (for example a company or partnership) and the jurisdiction in which it should be situated.
The choice of vehicle and place of management will impact on the regulatory treatment of the funds advised by the entity. The tax treatment of both the vehicle and fund investors may also be affected and we are known for ensuring optimal tax treatment for both.
