Tax & succession for landowners

Our team includes lawyers trained in property trust law, taxation, corporate, litigation and regulatory and reputation management issues.  This enables us to resolve the many issues, including tax and succession concerns, facing landed estate owners today.

We have advised clients on numerous issues relating to trust use, including the restructuring of estate ownership following changes to the UK inheritance tax treatment of trusts

Whether an estate extends over 15,000, 500 or 50 acres of land, the legal issues and the principles underpinning them are often the same.  Our particular skill lies in the ability to apply those principles to diverse family situations, to achieve a satisfactory outcome for everyone involved.

Our clients own land across the UK and the US; they include historic landowners such as the Duke of Marlborough and Blenheim Estates, successful individuals with money to invest and professional advisers and trustees.  A significant number of our clients are resident or domiciled abroad for tax purposes, and we are able to advise them on a range of cross-border planning issues.

In every case, domestic or international, we combine our skills, experience and lateral thinking, to find the most effective solution, to what is often a complex situation.
