Withers represents Andrea Pirlo on move to NYC FC

International law firm Withers has advised Italian football champion Andrea Pirlo on his transfer from Juventus FC to New York City FC of Major League Soccer. Mr. Pirlo, who is regarded as one of the greatest ever midfielders in football and has been a key player in winning World Cup, Champions League and Serie A teams, joins the US team on 21 July 2015.

Withers' Sports team, led by partner Luca Ferrari, represented both Mr. Pirlo and his agent TMP Soccer SRL in connection with Mr. Pirlo's transfer, which sees him move to a non-Italian team for the first time in his career.

Luca comments: “It has been a pleasure to work with one of the greats in football, and this is a very exciting move for him. He joins many first class players at New York City FC, and will have the support of a dynamic new team. This matter perfectly showcases our strengths in representing talented and successful sporting individuals from around the world on important developments in their careers.”

Withers' sports practice advises leading sportsmen and women, as well as international clubs, sponsors, agents, promoters and broadcasters. The team representing Mr. Pirlo was led by Luca Ferrari, based in Milan, working with New York-based associate Michael Rueda and Milan associates Marco Tieghi and Edoardo Revello.
