Assisted Ennio and Carlo Capasa, the owners of the fashion brand ‘Costume National’, when they decided to sell the company to Japanese fund, Sequedge. This included the drafting and negotiation of a number of agreements in relation to Ennio Capasa’s rights to continue to use certain IP assets despite his exit from the company. The transaction required extensive knowledge of the issues pertinent to the fashion industry, such as the use of trademarks, which are patronymic names, and the IP inherent in the creations of the designer of a maison.

Assisted Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, the organisation which represents the major Italian fashion brands worldwide, in administrative proceedings aimed at reclaiming the domain name ‘cameramoda.org’ and related social network pages. The board appointed to decide the case acknowledged the distinctiveness of the ‘Camera Moda’ trademark owned by the client despite the descriptive nature of their name as argued in the deeds.

Assisted Italian investment firm Europa Investimenti and its subsidiary, Cose Belle d’Italia, in the IP-related aspects of the acquisition of a controlling share in the luxury yacht manufacturer, who are the producers of the Apreamare brand of boats. Cose Belle d’Italia conducted the acquisition through a newly established entity, Imbarcazioni d’Italia. The investment adds to Cose Belle d’Italia’s other holdings in the sector thus creating one of the first Italian-owned portfolios of luxury yachts.

Me in a minute

Specialising in IP allows me to be surrounded by creative people who are passionate about their ideas

I have always thought I would be a lawyer but when the time came to chose the area of law in which to specialize I decided to merge my passion for new technologies and the arts with my work. Being an IP lawyer allows me to be surrounded by creative people who are passionate about their ideas. This I find extremely fun and engaging.

I am curious about a wide range of subjects such as science, architecture, cinema and sport, thus it is not unusual to find me engaging in the most diverse books and activities.

Whenever I can, I travel around the world, my main goal being to visit every country on earth in the next 10 years.
