Withers appoints Jocelyn Tsao as Hong Kong office managing director

Leading international law firm Withersworldwide has announced the appointment of Jocelyn Tsao, partner and head of the Hong Kong divorce and family team, as Managing Director of its Hong Kong office, making her the youngest Managing Director of Withers' 17 global offices.

Stepping into the role of Managing Director, Jocelyn brings her exceptional experience and knowledge in legal practice and management. She is known for her strategic and forward-thinking vision, strong client relationships and being commercially astute and personable. 

Jocelyn has been with Withers for over a decade and has led the Hong Kong divorce and family team since 2022. She heads both the firm's Environment and Pro bono committees in APAC and is actively involved in the firm's Well-being committee.

Jocelyn comments, "I am honoured and excited to take on this role, working closely with our Chairperson Justine Markovitz, Global CEO Margaret Robertson and the other Managing Directors across our global network. Jocelyn is a well-regarded family and divorce law specialist and one of the most highly esteemed rising stars in her specialism. In particular, she navigates the complexities of divorce and child custody cases with a strong sense of care and duty for her clients. Furthermore, Jocelyn regularly works on pro bono cases involving LGBTQ rights. She writes thought leadership pieces to share her legal insights into the challenges faced by the LGBTQ community.

Jocelyn has been recognised in various market-leading legal directories and publications, including Doyle's, Benchmark Litigation, Chambers and Partners and Legal 500. In 2022, she was awarded "Young Lawyer of the Year" (Law Firm) at the ALB Hong Kong Law Awards and listed as one of ALB's "Asia's top 40 lawyers under the age of 40" as well as a "Rising Star" in the China Business Law Journal.
