Withers is proud to help close the digital divide in New York City

24 August 2020 | Applicable law: US

Withers is proud to support the New York City Bar Association’s efforts to ensure internet access in homeless shelters as part of Mayor de Blasio’s plans to expand broadband service. Withers has partnered with the New York City Bar to help educate New Yorkers about this issue and urge the City to include and prioritize homeless shelters in its plan to expand broadband internet access for low-income New Yorkers.

We are pleased to endorse the City Bar Justice Center’s report "Homeless Need Internet Access To Find a Home: How Access to Internet and Technology Resources can Support Homeless Families Transition out of Homeless Shelters" and its recommendations.

Here is more information for anyone interested in helping to spread the word about this issue and the City's efforts to close the digital divide in NYC.
