Me in a minute
As a lawyer, I get the chance to help clients in many different jobs and walks of life
Growing up, there were a myriad of different jobs I thought I wanted to do: doctor (but I could not stand the sight of blood), pilot (but my red-green colour-blindness might not have been ideal when bringing that plane into land) or Formula One driver (a bit too tall for those racing cars). Instead, as a lawyer, I get the chance to help clients in many different jobs and walks of life, to understand the businesses they are in and the goals and priorities they have. Being a lawyer is about more than knowing ‘the law’, it is about understanding what your client needs doing and helping them do it.
If you’re anything like me then you know what it is like having not only a ‘nationality’ but an ‘internationality’. I was born in the UK, am qualified to practice law in New York and England & Wales, and have a fiancé with American nationality. With cross-border experience, particularly in employment matters, I pride myself on being able to help employees and employers alike with tricky international and domestic problems.
When I am not active as a governor at my local secondary school, I can be found burning food in the kitchen. In the event that I cannot be found, I am most likely travelling East Coast America or giving my English Heritage card an airing.
