Simon is an associate in the litigation and arbitration team.

He has experience in a variety of international and domestic litigation, international arbitrations and mediation. He advises on a broad cross-section of commercial matters, including disputes concerning art, shareholder, joint ventures, partnerships, fraud, mis-selling claims and professional negligence. He also advises on public international law matters, including advising sovereign states on boundary disputes, environmental law issues and the law of the sea.

Before joining Withers, he worked for an Italian commercial art dealership in Mayfair and Milan for seven years. This experience and his understanding of the market has proved invaluable when working with individuals, galleries and institutions on both contentious and non-contentious art matters. As part of the art team, Simon has advised on a wide range of art related legal issues including disputes concerning authenticity, contract, negligence, title and insurance fraud. He also advises on import regulations, repatriation and the sale or purchase of artworks. Simon has been recognised in Legal 500’s Art and Cultural Property directory as being a Next Generation Lawyer, having ‘an outstanding attention to detail’ and ‘an unparalleled work ethic’ and as someone whose ‘client manner is perfect’.

Simon also assists on pro bono matters relating to human rights violations, most recently advising in relation to submissions to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.
