He has experience in a variety of international and domestic commercial disputes in the English Courts, international arbitrations and mediation. He assists and advises on a broad cross-section of matters including contentious bankruptcy, construction disputes, fraud, mis-selling claims and professional negligence.
Before joining Withers, he worked for an Italian commercial art dealership in Mayfair and Milan for seven years. This experience and his understanding of the market has proved invaluable when working with individuals, galleries and institutions on both contentious and non-contentious art matters. He has advised on a wide range of art related legal issues including contract, negligence, title disputes, insurance fraud, import regulations and the sale or purchase of artworks.
Simon trained at Withers where he spent six months in the wealth planning department. Here, he assisted on a variety of matters including on the importation and exportation of art works. A further six months was spent with the intellectual property team where he gained experience in a wide range of contentious and non-contentious issues relating to the protection and exploitation of intellectual property rights for a number of art clients.
