Special counsel | Singapore

Simone is special counsel in the litigation and arbitration team.

He has extensive experience working in both Europe and (after his relocation to Singapore in 2010) APAC, including as an in-house lawyer for private and listed companies.

Simone began his legal career as a shipping and international trade lawyer in the City of London and since then has broadened his practice to include a wide-range of contentious and non-contentious work.

In addition to trading, shipping and offshore, in his dispute resolution work he regularly acts as counsel and foreign co-counsel in international arbitrations such as ICC, SIAC, HKIAC, LCIA, LMAA, SCMA arising out of breaches of a wide spectrum of commercial contracts such as licensing, supply, distribution, agency, partnership and joint venture, commission, consultancy, service, etc. In his non-contentious work he advises on strategic and legal issues arising from cross border transactions, inbound and outbound trade and investments, development, and day to day operations in APAC, including assisting clients in negotiating all manner of commercial contracts.

Simone’s clients include government-owned corporations as well as listed and private companies in the following sectors: commodities; shipping; offshore; logistics; energy; oil and gas; construction and engineering, defence and technology; manufacturing; consumer and luxury goods; digital and innovation. He has also acted for entrepreneurs and startups.

Assisting European system integration company in settling a multi million dollar dispute with Asian general contractor arising out of supplies of goods and services to a new LNG terminal.

Assisting Asian shipowner arm of an Australian listed company on the majority of their English law requirements, including work prior to the listing application.
