Tony Tam


Tony is an associate in the litigation and arbitration team.

He has experience in a broad aspect of litigation and arbitration matters including shareholders’ and directors’ disputes, tortious claims, contractual disputes, intellectual property disputes and employment disputes. He was involved in a variety of cases in the Court of First Instance and the Court of Appeal relating to shareholders’ disputes, debt recovery, commercial fraud, insolvency and derivative action. He also regularly advises clients on regulatory investigation and cross-border litigation.

Tony possesses a wide range of knowledge in multidisciplinary areas. He holds a BASc degree in Mechanical Engineering (Minor in Bioengineering) from the University of Toronto, a MSc degree in Law & Accounting from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Hong Kong.

Tony was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong in November 2016, and as a solicitor and barrister in Ontario, Canada in June 2021.

Acting for a shareholder of a hedge fund to successfully enforce its right of redemption on grounds of share dilution in a HKIAC arbitration.

Acting for the intended buyer in a failed purchase of a news magazine owned by a publicly listed media company in Hong Kong for breach of contract in a series of court action [2018] HKCFI 1951 and HKIAC arbitration.
