Overview

Daniel has worked in the international contemporary art market (London, Tokyo and New York) and has in-depth experience of advising artists, galleries, dealers and collectors. Daniel's legal focus is commercial law, intellectual property law and dispute resolution.

He advises clients particularly on the acquisition, sale, consignment and commissioning of art works. He also advises clients on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, including copyright, moral rights and droit de suite.

Publications and speaking engagements

Daniel has edited and contributed to two pioneering publications on the relationship between art and law: ‘Dear Images: Art, Culture and Copyright' [2004] and ‘The Trials of Art' [2007-forthcoming].

He teaches on the MBA Art Business course at the Sotheby's Institute (London).

On a personal note

Daniel has a keen interest in contemporary art, travel, dining, walking, reading and watching films.  He supports Arsenal football club.
