Gabriel heads the US Italian Desk, working between the New York and Milan offices, and is a member of the firm's Latin American Practice Group.

He advises on corporate, corporate finance and commercial transactions involving private and public companies. He focuses on cross border M&A transactions involving Italy and Latin American and international capital market offerings for Italian and Latin American issuers and underwriters.

Following the merger of Italian Stock Exchange (Borsa Italiana S.p.A.) with the London Stock Exchange (LSE), Gabriel participated in the consultation process organized by Borsa Italiana for the establishment of AIM Italia, a new Italian market mirroring the successful AIM London market.

Gabriel also represents various Italian and Latin American companies, in a variety of industry sectors, on general commercial matters and establishing operations in the US through the formation or acquisition of US entities or joint venture arrangements.

Gabriel previously acted on:

  • Borsa Italiana listed Eurotech S.p.A. on its $60 million triangular merger with US embedded chip manufacturer Applied Data Systems, Inc.
  • NYSE listed Standard Motor Products, Inc. on its disposal of non-core French and Italian business.
  • US securities laws aspects in respect of the partial offer by OJSC Polyus Gold for LSE Main Market listing of Withers client Kazakhgold Group Limited.
  • The placing of shares in Kazakhgold Group Limited on the main market.
  • The convertible debt offering of Radicle Projects Plc and listing on Luxembourg Stock Exchange's Euro-MTF market.
  • The AIM market IPO of Hightex Group plc. and simultaneous reverse merger with California AIM listed West 175.
  • The proposed IPO of Italian companies on the AIM UK and AIM Italia markets.
  • The IPO on the Italian Stock Exchange of Guala Closures S.p.A.
  • The IPO on the Italian Stock Exchange of Anima S.p.A. and Azimut S.p.A.
  • Assisting US based and NYSE listed telecommunication companies in various assets acquisitions in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina.

Publications and speaking engagements

Gabriel regularly participates as a speaker at corporate and corporate finance events. He is a lecturer in the "Il Sole 24 Ore" post-graduate Business Law Masters Program (Master Diritto e Impresa), held at the Il Sole 24 Ore headquarters in Milan, Italy, covering the Introduction to International Capital Markers course in English.

Gabriel has presented with the London Stock Exchange on AIM in various cities including Madrid and Barcelona. The Madrid conference was the first ever AIM event in Spain in which the LSE participated.
