Overview

Judith focuses on tax, trust and estate planning work for individuals and trustees. In addition to a full range of UK work, Judith is frequently involved in projects requiring consideration of international tax and succession issues. She splits her time between the firm's Geneva and London offices,  advising clients in both jurisdictions.

Highlights

  • Trust and estate planning for a UK resident but not domiciled client with assets in numerous jurisdictions.
  • Trust reorganisations for a number of major UK based families following the changes to the inheritance tax regime introduced in the 2006 Budget.
  • Negotiating on behalf of an international client the separation of his share in family assets from the shares of other family members.

Publications and speaking engagements

Judith is a contributor to Practical Wills Precedents and Practical Trusts Precedents, both published by Sweet and Maxwell and co-authors the Foreign assets chapter of Tolley’s Administration of Trusts. Judith also lectures widely for STEP, LexisNexis and other conference organisers on topics including trust drafting, developments in tax law and international issues. Judith has also been involved in lobbying the Government and Revenue authorities in relation to topics such as the tax regime for non-domiciled UK residents.
