Overview
Emma is the newest of the employment team's four partners. She is best known for her work advising high-profile employers, with her clients including several notable names in the financial and charitable sectors, a Formula One team and a global manufacturing business. She has also advised other City law firms in relation to individual partner matters. She works closely with HR representatives and business managers on strategic and day-to-day employment matters, both within the UK and internationally.
Emma's practice advising individuals is as important as her employer practice. By advising both, she understands the priorities and sensitivities of each. She acts for senior executives and other professionals, including lawyers, throughout the City on both non-contentious and contentious matters. Her clients include FTSE 100 directors and international executives. She regularly advises on complex contracts and remuneration packages (including those affected by the FSA Remuneration Code) as well as severance and the full range of employment disputes.
Highlights
Much of Emma's work involves keeping clients out of the limelight. However, Emma is an experienced litigator, and has had many successes in the Employment Tribunal, Employment Appeal Tribunal and High Court. She also has mediation, arbitration, regulatory and professional conduct experience. Her successes include the defence of multi-party discrimination claims, and the pursuit of High Court proceedings to enforce a 12 month worldwide non-compete.
