Deborah Barker SC, Managing Partner of Withers KhattarWong, comments: 'We are very pleased to bring Lada on board. She has extremely strong sector experience and complements our well established real estate and finance team.  Her presence will help to develop our position as leading legal advisors to the hotels and hospitality industry in Singapore and the region.'

Robert Williams, Head of Withers' Hotels and Hospitality group in Asia, adds: 'Building on our recent appointment of fellow hotels – specialist David Mallinson in Hong Kong, Lada will give us a senior dedicated hotels expertise on the ground in Singapore.  Our team has been extremely busy in Singapore in the past year.  It is the hub for deals in the region, which is seeing peak levels of hotel development and transaction activity.  In response to client-demand, we have assembled a great senior team to expand our offering and better service industry players across the region.'

Lada adds: 'I am delighted to join Withers KhattarWong's dynamic and accomplished hotels practice.  The team is working on some extremely exciting projects across Asia, and I look forward to aligning my own experience in the sector with the group's strong skill set.  I also look forward to transferring from the Middle East market to Asia, where there is such a strong pipeline of hotel development and M&A activity.'

Withers launched its Hotels and Hospitality practice in March 2016 with the hire of Robert Williams, Justin Gross and their team, and added partner David Mallinson from Mayer Brown JSM in Hong Kong in August 2016.  Over the course of the year the practice has advised Marriott International in establishing its first JW Marriott hotel in Singapore, Pro-invest Group on an A$300 million capital raise for its inaugural Australian hotel fund and SilverNeedle Hospitality Group on a three hotel lease deal with the Queensland Investment Corporation.
