Withers KhattarWong advised Grab on pilot venture – GrabCycle

Withers KhattarWong represented Southeast Asia’s leading on-demand transportation and mobile payments platform Grab in its pilot project – GrabCycle, a marketplace app unifying four different mobility partners into a single app.

The Withers KhattarWong team, led by Singapore-based Corporate partner Leong Chuo Ming, with the assistance of legal associate Chow Su Rin, represented Grab in setting the template for its partnership agreement with the other mobility partners.

Leong Chuo Ming comments: “This collaboration marks an important step in Grab’s efforts to venture further in contributing to active mobility in cities, while lending its brand to an up-and-coming companies in the space. Withers KhattarWong is deeply honoured to be part of this exciting venture, which establishes the collaboration of parties who have revolutionised the way people in Singapore, and other cities across Asia, make use of transportation. Our partnership with Grab also underscores the strength of Withers KhattarWong’s technology practice and its belief in the future of a seamless experience in personal mobility.”

While the collaboration was governed in accordance to Singapore law, the cross-border nature in which Grab and some of its partners operate involved the lawyers from other offices of the Withers Worldwide. These included Corporate partners Daniel Tang and Paul McGrath, and consultant Chris Greiner, from the Hong Kong, London and Sydney offices respectively.
