Government lawyers

Central and local governments require lawyers who understand their unique and complex projects. With top-ranked practices from trusts to tax, we are frequently called on by government bodies to offer a view on draft legislation, or advise on the likely consequences of new policies or regulation.

Government agencies, States and departments across the world benefit from our wide ranging and international skills.

Recognised as a leading firm for tax and trust law, charity law and philanthropic giving, wealth planning, and international litigation and arbitration, our depth of knowledge and strong reputation means our lawyers are frequently called upon by government bodies to provide a unique viewpoint on draft legislation, or the best way to structure new rules.

Whether on a formally instructed basis or working as part of a committee of advisors, our broad legal knowledge and international perspective allows us to give guidance on the consequences of policies and legislation.

Our lawyers are frequently also found campaigning at the forefront of their various areas of law, working with government bodies, industry groups and interested third parties on ways in which the law could be practically improved to help agencies and individuals.
