Environmental responsibility

Throughout our history, we have championed our clients’ interests locally and globally, helping them use their success to make the world a better place. As an international law firm, we recognize that environmental degradation and climate change are serious threats, and it is our responsibility to reduce our environmental impact globally. Our operations team runs the firm in an environmentally conscious manner, guided by two sustainability objectives: low carbon and greener buildings.

Low carbon

We aim to reduce our global energy consumption and carbon emissions as far as possible. With over 1,500 people across 15 offices we monitor, report and disclose our emissions across Scopes 1, 2 and 3, improving data quality year-on-year and designing and implementing reduction activities. 

In 2025 we achieved Planet Mark Certified – Business across all offices, and as members of the Legal Sustainability Alliance we collaborate with other firms on environmental sustainability.

Greener buildings

We integrate sustainability into all our operations through our environmental sustainability strategy, spanning circular economy, culture and community, health and wellbeing, low carbon and sustainable procurement. From Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Singapore and Tokyo to, most recently, New York, this has helped us design low-impact office spaces that enhance the experience of our colleagues, clients, and visitors.
