Withers' Of Counsel Paul Sczudlo becomes Secretary of STEP USA

On March 13, Paul Sczudlo of Withers was elected secretary of Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) USA. Based in the firm’s Los Angeles office, Paul is on the firm’s private client and tax team and focuses on cross-border tax planning for individuals and businesses.  He is the current chair of STEP Los Angeles, the organization’s Los Angeles branch, and will continue to serve in that role for the remainder of 2019.

Paul was elected to the position by the STEP USA board of directors. He is joined on the board by Withers’ trust and estate attorney, Helen Cheng, who is based in the firm’s San Diego office and is chair of STEP San Diego, the organization’s San Diego branch.

STEP is the global professional association for practitioners who specialize in family inheritance and succession planning. STEP USA oversees the strategic direction and coordination of STEP’s activity across the 18 branches and chapters in the region.

Paul comments: "I am honored to be elected to this prestigious position. I have always prized my involvement with STEP; it is a leading international organization for trust and estate practitioners. I aim to use my position as US Secretary to continue the organization's important role in enhancing excellence and professionalism in the work of advising families across generations."
