Withers welcomes senior corporate partner Raymond Oh to Asia team

2 February 2026 | Applicable law: Hong Kong, Singapore

International law firm Withers has announced that Raymond Oh has joined the firm as a partner in its corporate practice, based across its Singapore and Hong Kong offices.

Raymond joins Withers from Sidley Austin, where he was a partner and deputy head of the firm's China corporate and finance practice in Hong Kong. He brings more than two decades of experience advising on complex cross-border corporate transactions across Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore and the wider Asia Pacific region. Raymond has a broad-based corporate practice spanning M&A, capital markets and corporate finance. His experience includes IPOs and listings on major international exchanges, follow-on equity offerings, convertible bonds and other equity-linked instruments, as well as preferred equity investments, takeovers and privatisations, joint ventures, PIPE transactions and private capital transactions.

Raymond has advised on a number of high-profile and market-leading transactions across Asia and internationally. His recent experience includes advising on public company takeovers, business combinations through special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs), cross-border IPOs and capital markets transactions across multiple listing regimes, take-private and privatisation transactions, and significant cross-border M&A transactions involving technology, healthcare, fintech, energy and infrastructure businesses. He also advises founders and early-stage to growth companies on strategic capital raising and structuring, including pre-IPO investments through preferred equity, convertible bonds and other structured equity and hybrid instruments, and supports clients through subsequent public listings, take-privates and exit transactions. Raymond regularly advises global corporations, founders, private capital sponsors and financial institutions on complex strategic investments, joint ventures, acquisition financings and capital markets-adjacent private capital structures across Greater China and Southeast Asia.

Raymond will be based across Withers' Hong Kong and Singapore offices. He comments: "Withers offers a unique platform that is specifically suited to my clients' needs. The firm's strong focus on funds, family offices, founder-led business and global institutions allows me to fully capitalise on my experience, particularly in Greater China and Southeast Asia. I have known some partners in the firm for several years and am excited to join Withers and work closely with its teams across the world."

Jeremy Wakeham, CEO of Withers' Business division, says: "Raymond is a well-respected corporate lawyer with a deep understanding of the China and wider Asia market and a strong, relationship-driven practice. His appointment reflects our continued investment in growing our corporate capabilities in Asia."

"Raymond's hire will further strengthen our ability to support clients across Greater China and Asia," adds Daniel Tang, partner and Regional Divisional Leader for the Business division in Asia. "Raymond's experience will enhance our regional offering, allowing us to deliver even more market-driven solutions to these clients."

Raymond will work closely with Withers' cross border corporate team across the firm's Asia offices, including Daniel Tang, Mabel Lui and Simon Wong in Hong Kong; Daniel Yong, Gary Beh and Joel Shen in Singapore; and Kazumitsu Goto, Ean MacPherson and Fumihiko Hori in Tokyo.
