New Houston team continues growth of Withers' Texas strategy

5 January 2023 | 1 minute read

International law firm Withers has amplified the scale of its services for clients in Texas through the arrival of the Dossey & Jones team, based in the Houston area.

Dossey & Jones has been representing high net worth clients in the Houston area since 1972 and partner Jim Dossey is the third generation of his family to work at the firm. Jim co-manages the practice with Paige Jones, offering clients high quality advice on estate and tax planning, probate matters and corporate and property transactions. The team also includes senior associate Phillip Black and associate Esteban Martinez.

Withers first launched its Texas practice in 2021, offering tax, estate and trust planning services to clients resident in the state, as well as to families and businesses who are relocating to Texas from within or outside the US.

Withers CEO Margaret Robertson comments:  “We're thrilled to have Jim, Paige and the team join Withers and integrate their deeply rooted and trusted practice into our wider US and international network. The appetite for relocation to Texas has only increased since we set up here in 2021 and the Dossey team can provide all of the support that new arrivals need, as well as working with longer term residents on their tax, estate and transactional matters."

Jim Dossey adds: “We see a really bright future as part of the Withers team, in particular to grow our practice in Houston and to bring a whole new range of US and international services into play for our clients. The Texas market is booming, and Withers' full-service offering will deliver a huge amount of value to our clients.”

The new Withers team is located in Conroe, just north of The Woodlands and city of Houston.
