Recently, the National Women's Soccer League ("NWSL") extended their uniform, apparel and equipment deal with Nike until the end of the 2022 season. The deal was set to expire at the end of the 2019 season. Nike has been the NWSL's official uniform, apparel and equipment provider since the NWSL's inception in 2013.
NWSL president said in a statement, "Having Nike's continued support behind NWSL and our athletes demonstrated our shared commitment to elevating professional soccer in the United States." Following the end of the 2019 Women's World Cup in France, the NWSL has seen a major uptick in the public's interest. NWSL clubs' Chicago Red Stars and Sky Blue FC have hosted record-breaking crowds. Other companies looking to capitalize on the increased popularity, including ESPN and Budweiser, have entered into recent deals with the NWSL. ESPN has picked up the broadcasting rights for the remainder of the 2019 season, and Budweiser has signed on to become the NWSL's official beer partner.
