Withers Advises Far East Hospitality REIT on Landmark Acquisition in Japan

8 May 2025 | Applicable law: Japan | 1 minute

Withers recently represented Far East Hospitality REIT's first-ever acquisition of a Four Points by Sheraton Nagoya, valued at JPY 6.0 billion and a hotel operating company in Japan.

This landmark deal marks a significant milestone for the REIT as it expands its presence in the Japanese market, whilst maintaining a strong focus on Singapore.

The Withers team was led by Tokyo-based real estate partner, Toshihiko Tsuchiya, with the support of associate Kenya Rummel.

“Japan presents a unique opportunity for investors looking to diversify their portfolios,” said Toshihiko Tsuchiya. “The combination of strong economic fundamentals and increasing demand for real estate makes it an exciting market for our client.”

Amid discussions of potential interest rate hikes in Japan, the country continues to remain on the radar of major investors seeking opportunities overseas and Withers remains committed to supporting clients in navigating this evolving landscape.
