Bernetta Foong

Bernetta is an associate in the technology and intellectual property team.

Her practice covers a broad range of IP and technology-focused matters. She is experienced in managing global IP portfolios for both local and international clients, and advises on the identification, protection, commercialisation and enforcement of intellectual property rights and intangible assets.

In addition, Bernetta advises on contractual and regulatory matters within the TMT space. Her experience includes drafting and negotiating technology-and IP-driven commercial arrangements (including licensing, franchising and collaboration agreements), supporting TMT-focused transactions, and advising on data protection compliance, primarily under the Singapore data protection framework. She frequently assists clients on data protection and governance matters, including reviewing data protection policies and contractual provisions, supporting responses to data-related queries and incidents, and advising on regulatory obligations, best practices and risk management.

Having worked with clients across industries such as IT, emerging technologies, gaming, FMCG, food & beverage, cosmetics, fashion and retail, Bernetta brings a practical and business-oriented approach, tailoring her advice to each client’s specific needs and commercial objectives.

Bernetta holds the Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals, reflecting her focus on emerging issues at the intersection of AI, responsible governance and regulatory compliance.
