Floriane Lavaud is a partner and head of Americas for international arbitration.
Floriane is a trusted adviser to investors, sovereign States and multinational corporations on complex international disputes, strategic investments and cross-border commercial relationships.With 20 years of experience, she advises multinational corporations, sovereign States and international organizations on international arbitration, public international law, treaty interpretation and strategic investments. She has represented clients in commercial and investment treaty disputes across a broad range of sectors, including infrastructure, aviation, energy and natural resources, and has acted before the International Court of Justice and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.
Her practice focuses on international arbitration and public international law, with substantial experience advising investors, sovereign States, Stateowned entities and multinational corporations across Africa and the Middle East. Admitted in New York, Paris and England & Wales, she advises clients on disputes involving strategic infrastructure assets, sovereign counterparties, investment protection and cross-border commercial relationships. Having started her legal career in-house at Total, she brings a practical understanding of how legal strategy supports broader commercial and business objectives. In addition to her practice as counsel, she sits as an arbitrator.
