Gary is a partner and a solicitor advocate in the international arbitration and litigation team.
He is an experienced advocate and litigator specialises in complex commercial, financial and insolvency litigation, domestic/international arbitration and contentious regulatory matters.He has extensive experience in advising and representing multinational companies, high-net-worth individuals in a wide range of complex cross-border matters, including insolvency and restructuring disputes, joint venture and shareholder disputes, assets tracing and recovery, probate and trust disputes and intellectual property disputes. Gary also has substantial experience advising and representing professional advisors (including directors, auditors and finance professionals) in dealing with regulators such as the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC).
Prior to joining Withers, Gary practised 9 years as a barrister in Hong Kong and thereafter practised as a Solicitor Advocate at a US firm specialising in cross-border commercial litigation and investigations. Gary has appeared in all levels of court in Hong Kong as well as arbitral tribunal.
Gary is widely recognised for his commercial acumen, as well as extensive knowledge of the hard law and all aspects of litigation. He is a trusted advisor to corporate clients, finance professionals, general counsel and family offices.
