Jonathan is a special counsel in the litigation and arbitration team.
Jonathan has a focus on commercial and civil disputes, and is frequently called upon to advise companies and their board of directors on managing ongoing disputes and preventing the same. He regularly handles litigation proceedings in the Singapore Courts as well as arbitration proceedings seated in Singapore. He has been involved in arbitrations administered by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA).Jonathan has acted in a broad range of matters from shareholder disputes, property related disputes, construction, breach of contract, fraud, conspiracy, blockchain-related disputes, shipping as well as inheritance disputes.
Jonathan has been recognised by the Supreme Court of Singapore for delivering "valiant and forceful submissions" and for his conduct in accordance with the "best traditions of the bar". Claims for misrepresentation and conspiracy
Acting in the Singapore High Court on behalf of a Singapore company against a group of companies operating in Singapore and Malaysia controlled by a Malaysian public listed company in respect of claims for misrepresentation and conspiracy.
Misrepresentation and negligent misstatement
Acted for an investor of a cryptocurrency token against the cryptocurrency firm headquartered in Singapore and its co-founder for misrepresentation and negligent misstatement of various marketing materials and statements, conspiracy to injure the cryptocurrency token holders and unjust enrichment of the revenue from the cryptocurrency platform.
Uncompleted mixed-use development
Acted in the Singapore High Court for a main-contractor to obtain judgment against a developer of a mixed-use property development in Singapore for breach of contract, and the subsequent enforcement the Judgment against the uncompleted mixed-use development.
Claims of misrepresentation and conspiracy
Represented a shareholder of an international logistics company in claims of misrepresentation and conspiracy against its former parent company which is a public listed company in Malaysia and other subsidiaries in Singapore and Malaysia.
Dispute involving fraud carried out by the Wirecard entities
Represented Delphinium Capital PLC in relation to a dispute involving the Wirecard entities. This matter is closely monitored given the ongoing investigations in Germany and Singapore involving the fraud carried out by the Wirecard entities which is estimated to be in excess of Euro 1.5 billion.
