Jonathan Tan

Jonathan is a special counsel in the litigation and arbitration team.

Jonathan has a focus on commercial and civil disputes, and is frequently called upon to advise companies and their board of directors on managing ongoing disputes and preventing the same. He regularly handles litigation proceedings in the Singapore Courts as well as arbitration proceedings seated in Singapore. He has been involved in arbitrations administered by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA).

Jonathan has acted in a broad range of matters from shareholder disputes, property related disputes, construction, breach of contract, fraud, conspiracy, blockchain-related disputes, shipping as well as inheritance disputes.

Jonathan has been recognised by the Supreme Court of Singapore for delivering "valiant and forceful submissions" and for his conduct in accordance with the "best traditions of the bar". Jonathan's opposing counsel have also praised Jonathan for being "absolutely professional" and demonstrating the "hallmark of a good lawyer", with "exemplary" professional conduct that has been "nothing short of the best practices of the Bar".
