Sarina is an associate, Withers Art and Advisory and in the art law team.
With over four years of expertise in private client, tax, and art law, Sarina advises high-net-worth individuals, families and arts organizations and institutions on a wide range of issues involving art and luxury objects. These range from art sales and acquisitions, auction and gallery consignments, exhibition, and loan agreements, to charitable donations of artwork to cultural institutions. She is also skilled in working with artists and artists’ estates on legacy planning.Previously, Sarina worked as a trusts and estates attorney at a large New York law firm where her practice focused on developing, implementing and administering complex wealth transfer tax planning techniques, as well as advising clients, including artists and art collectors, on estate and trust administration, charitable planning and other fiduciary matters.
Prior to beginning her legal career, Sarina completed a year-long fellowship at the National Palace Museum in Taipei and spent several years working as a specialist of Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art at Christie's in New York. While at Christie's, Sarina managed consignments for American estate, trade and private clients in auctions in Hong Kong and Shanghai and worked closely with offices across Asia. She also lead the development eCommerce sales in the category.
Sarina earned her JD from New York University School of Law and her BA in Art History and East Asian Studies from Wellesley College, cum laude.
