Yousra Salem

Yousra is a senior associate in the international arbitration and public international law groups and coordinator of the Middle East group.

Yousra is a member of the International Arbitration Group, where she is involved in complex international commercial and investment arbitration disputes and public international law cases. She has experience in disputes under the ICC, LCIA, ICSID and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, as well as in ad hoc arbitrations, in a range of sectors including construction, renewable energy, technology, banking & finance, oil & gas, mining, metals, waste management, insurance, aviation and refuelling.

Yousra is a member and coordinator of our Middle East group. Fluent in Arabic and French, her practice often involves clients and cases that have a connection to the Middle East and North Africa. Her previous experience in the region includes working as a Legal Consultant in a highly reputable law firm in Yemen advising foreign clients, including multinational companies and international NGOs on a wide range of commercial legal matters.

Yousra is committed to pro bono work and regularly advises individuals and organisations on matters with a public interest dimension. This includes acting on cases before constitutional courts, UN Human Rights Treaty Bodies and regional human rights courts.

Yousra is also a member of the firm’s ESG and business human rights team, contributing to matters at the intersection of international law, responsible business conduct and human rights.

Prior to that, Yousra worked at the corporate department in the Paris office of an international law firm, where she had exposure to French Law and assisted in the review of various English and French legal documents.
