Jeff Chiu

Jeff is an associate in the private client and tax team.

As a US international tax lawyer based in Asia, Jeff advises high-net-worth individuals, multinational families, family offices, and trustees on international tax, trust, and estate planning matters.

His practice focuses on international estate planning involving trusts, tax planning for individuals immigrating to or expatriating from the US, US real estate investments, domestic and offshore trust and holding company structures, and various IRS voluntary disclosure programs.

Prior to joining Withers, Jeff worked in Boston and Singapore, focusing on tax planning for multinational enterprises and cross-border transactions, including reorganizations and M&A, fund formation and investments, cross-border corporate structuring, and general corporate tax matters.

Jeff is admitted to practice in New York and before the US Tax Court. He is also a Registered Foreign Lawyer in Hong Kong. Jeff is a native Mandarin speaker and is fluent in English.
