Rachel is an associate in our trust, estate and inheritance disputes (TEID) team.

Rachel advises individuals, families, charities and fiduciaries on complex trust and estate disputes. She also regularly advises charities on ex gratia claims.

She often acts for beneficiaries, trustees, and executors in high-value trust, inheritance, and probate disputes arising from will validity challenges and capacity issues, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, and the administration of estates and trusts, including Public Trustee v Cooper blessing applications. Her work often involves sensitive family dynamics and long-running disputes following death, where she provides clear, strategic advice grounded in a detailed understanding of complex factual and legal issues.

Rachel has significant experience in cross-border inheritance, trust and estate disputes, coordinating advice across multiple jurisdictions and working closely with leading counsel and foreign lawyers. She has been involved in matters spanning England and Wales, the Bahamas, Jersey, Guernsey, Switzerland, Jamaica, USA, Greece, Poland, Israel, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, and regularly advises on the interaction between English law and international succession and capacity regimes.

She also advises on Court of Protection and capacity-related matters, including those with an international dimension. Her experience includes advising on attorneyships under lasting powers of attorney, deputyship applications, recognition of foreign powers of attorney and statutory wills.
