Zoe is an associate in the litigation and arbitration team.
She has experience in a broad aspect of litigation and arbitration matters including high value commercial conflicts relating to complex business transactions, shareholder disputes, fiduciary duties, financial institutions and inheritance disputes of wealthy families.
Zoe works on a variety of commercial disputes and regulatory matters (including the Securities and Futures Commission and the Competition Commission). She completed her training with another international law firm and worked in dispute resolution, financial services regulatory (London Secondment), corporate, and intellectual property and information technology, as a consequence she developed an understanding of a broad spectrum of practice and a cross-border exposure.
Track record
Shareholders' dispute
Represented a client on a substantial shareholders' dispute concerning multiple BVI and overseas companies. Also advised the client on issues concerning director's liabilities in the context of BVI and Hong Kong companies and various corporate governance issues.
Securities and Futures Ordinance
Advised individual and corporate clients in investigations by the Securities and Futures Commission relating to alleged violation of the Securities and Futures Ordinance.
Competition Commission
Advised a hospitality industry executive in an investigation by the Competition Commission relating to alleged violations of the First Conduct Rule.
European trading company
Represented a European trading company defending a CIETAC arbitration in Shanghai brought by a Chinese medical equipment company. The underlying disputes relate to the purchase of ventilators on behalf of a foreign government amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Commercial fraud
Represented numerous clients who have fallen victim to different forms of commercial frauds perpetrated by persons or entities located in Hong Kong or with monies passing through Hong Kong's financial system.
